Oil on Canvas: 150 x 120cm

With my penchant for painting glass roofs (most often train stations) The Great Court was screaming out to be painted. I spent a long time thinking about how to capture the feeling of space and light. I like the idea that the structure casts these crazy shadows across the floor and although I haven’t seen this, I decided to go with my imagination. This is a big painting at 150 x 120cm which helps the feeling of an auditorium. However, because of the size I decided not to use too many strong colours so the painting doesn’t overly dominate the room.
