 <br><br>One of those dazzling sunsets that I love so much. This is in fact a pivotal painting when I began experimenting with very thick oils. I painted it just after the Flower and was wondering how I could capture the glare and energy in a sunset. The technique with the pallet knife has to be reasonably quick and very deliberate and I really like the result. The thickness of the paint along with the fact that I mix a lot of the colours on the canvas really add to the effect.  <br><br>Yes, the picture on the right is a close up of the painting, mainly because I wanted to show you just how much detail there is in each swirl of paint. I love this very thick, textured painting style - once I get over how much it is costing me for my latest experiment. It is bold and gives a completely different painting close up from when you stand back. <br><br> I conceived this painting just after the Full Moon party on Koh Phangang last March. We were in recovery and I woke up to see the sunset with everything still moving around. I like this painting as much for its texture as the memories it provides me.'))

 - The central market in Budapest is an amazing building and although renovated from a recent fire, the metal framework is original. During the afternoon the sun pours in and it was early autumn when I went to sketch this picture, so the sun was particularly low. I painted the people semi transparent as they are flickering images with the market itself remaining the centre of attraction.<br><br>Editions are Limited to 30 half size prints and 5 full size prints. <br><br>See conditions for more on limited editions.'))
 <br><br>On the Danube in front of the Hungarian Parliament are 30 pairs of life-size shoes cast in bronze. It represents the approximate 10,000 Hungarian Jews who, after stripping were shot by Hungarian facists; their bodies left to fall into the river. Here I have painted one pair, big and on the edge of darkness to represent the scale of individual suffering. <br><br>Editions are Limited to 30 half size prints and 5 full size prints. <br><br>See conditions for more on limited editions.'))
 - It was one of those days when the sky, buildings and water appear to be one. I exagerated the colours I saw although at one point, there was a touch of light over the Parliament building, causing slivers of light to reflect off the wet gloss of the building. <br><br>An afternoon at Nyugati in Budapest. This great west facing wall of glass is a centre piece at the station and I was intrigued by the light and shadows it cast.  <br><br>I did the sketches for this picture the same time I set up the Keleti painting above. There is something personal about missing a train and I wanted to really focus in on this guy without making him very big - somehow lost in the mass of the station.
