So What is This: An Exhibition?

After announcing a virtual only sales room, Contemporary British Impressionist Marcus Krackowizer now tells the world he's having a physical exhibition near London. So what's changed, if anything?

London, UK (Vocus/PRWEB) April 07, 2011: It's true he tells us 'but it's in a lovely restaurant which makes great cakes, couldn't resist'. It's not because he didn't want to do physical exhibitions, Marcus says, rather he doesn't enjoy marketing himself and finding an exhibition space that isn't a vanity gallery, requires an awful lot of that. The Jardine Bistro in Wivenhoe, which is hosting the 1 month event, led the talks and arrangements from the start. After an initial contact and a meeting they selected which paintings they wanted and have made all subsequent arrangements with energy and enthusiasm.

Another reason he is happy to exhibit at the Jardine Bistro is that they take no commission. It's win/win says Marcus.Read More ...

Viral Artwork: Can The "Old" Arts Catch The Bug?

Creating a viral video is as much luck as good judgement; however some key aspects are universal. We visited the oil painter Marcus Krackowizer as he explores these avenues while continuing to develop his on-line presence.

London, UK (Vocus/PRWEB) November 24, 2010: Not all viral videos are amateur and in fact, many at the top of the pile are clever advertisements or are created and filmed by professional outfits. Examples of these include ‘Will it blend?’ where all sorts of things from consumer electronics to golf balls are blended. Although this is obvious advertising, videos like lonelygirl15 are less obvious in their intentions, but equally professional. Truly amateur videos are usually quirky and share the following important ingredients with their professional competition; they are short, engaging and funny. Interestingly, while sex is an obvious marketing tool, it doesn’t figure in many of YouTube’s top viral videos.

So, is it possible to turn a non-spectator sport into a viral video? Read More ...

Contemporary Impressionist Marcus Krackowizer Launches New Website

New Site Provides Improved Navigation, Clearer Display Of Artwork, Simple Zoom Function For Closer Inspection Of Paintings, Impulse Buy Option And Fast Single Page Check Out.

London, UK (Vocus/PRWEB) October 6, 2010: Marcus Krackowizer, the British contemporary impressionist painter has launched a new personal online gallery in a bold move to focus on web sales. Following his highest online revenues to date achieved in 2009, which overtook traditional gallery sales for the 1st time, this shift in focus to online sales may not come as a complete surprise. “Traditional galleries are useful but the art world is a funny place where it’s not always as easy to express ones-self as individually as one might expect”. For this reason and the financial implications of transporting large paintings around the world, this direction will be watched closely by other successful professional artists wishing to reduce their overheads. New Studio, New Start

July18th 2010: So it’s been rather a long break from painting for me, 6 months in fact. I broke my leg, hurt my right shoulder and needed to move to a new studio. I took my usual month off in January to travel to warmer parts but towards the end of that trip I broke my leg which left my femur in lots of pieces. I also injured my right shoulder; the combination of which has made painting unfeasible. Then once back in action I needed to move studios, the result being 6 months of no painting.

I’ve completed a few warm up paintings, which I probably will not release; they’re just not good enough. I am however about to complete my first release for 2010 and in fact, after writing this I’ll probably continue with it. Being laid up for 6 months has left me with lots of ideas; the main problem now being, which to do next.

Post Modern Fashion Launches It’s T-shirt Range With 2 of My Paintings

June 24th 2010: Great news. It’s been 6 months in creation and well done to Benny Richardson of Post Modern Fashion for A, choosing my art and B, investing in the idea. In fact 8 T-shirts have been designed but due to financial restrictions, a reduced range is being launched 1st.

The 3 shirts have been based on 2 paintings, Shimmer and Freedom Bridge. They are made from high quality material and each is available in 3 sizes, medium, large and extra-large. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Featured Artist on Discoveredartists.com

November 1st 2009: I was rather pleased about this as Discovered Artists is a 100% curated website and just having paintings accepted isn’t so easy. So when I was made their featured artist plus one of my paintings (Keleti) was used as an example of excellence in one of their promotional videos, it made my day.

Mr November: Artist of the Month

October 29th 2008: Great to be nominated artist of the month for November in Zerooneart.co.uk. November particularly since it’s a Christmas build up month and usually a good time for my print sales. Zerooneart has been a good site for me in the past. Typing ‘New Artists’, into google UK and the site would come 1st or 2nd so in the early days I made a lot of sales through them. Now my prices are higher, I’m making fewer sales via them while my overall increase in sales is accelerating.
